The Importance of Human Nature in Morality

Kant's project was to try and understand morality as something rationally compelling. He sometimes, I think, with that complete unfairness accused of holding that if somebody had a kind of benevolent feeling towards somebody that actually detracted from the virtue of the action. Richard Dawkins: Kant's rationalist ethics is rather widely perceived as a sort of brilliant failure just because it doesn't take account of human nature.
