I've Been in Three Different Field Offices in My Career.

There are many different ways to move around the fbi, everything from taking a supervisory position at headquarters. Ence you spend some time at headquarters, then you are able to put in for a supervisor's desk at different field offices that have openings. There are also voluntary rotational transfers. Some offices are more difficult to staff than others. We recently had one in the new york field office, for example. Sometimes there are specialty transfers for agents that have specialized skills, such as a technically trained agent. I have been in three field offices in my career. Very interesting.
