Teachers in six states took part in walkouts demanding higher pay. TFA's educator placement program suggested they should cross the picket line, ignore the strike or risk losing thousands of dollars at the end of their service. One teacher stating that she barely survives on a $55,000 salary in California. She couldn't afford childcare costs. So her mother watches her son will she's at school teaching more than 100,000 public school teachers in six states.
