The Importance of Classifying Information

Even 50 years ago, there was a high level Defense Department Committee made up of people with the highest level clearances. It's just an example of how our government has been struggling to identify the information that really does have to be protected closely. One reason why so much information gets classified at the highest level is that it's just easier. But then it makes it much harder decades from now when people have to go through and review it all.
