The way you present yourself on a dating app is a subtle commodification of a potential partner. We're falling in love with an object, we're recreating something with mom or dad. Most people fall in love with a caricature of a real person because they are presenting things down to the last detail. And I think what dating apps have not taken into account as a technology is dynamics between the genders.
