John Newbansky and Chuck Akamazo

John Bakker died soloing near his home in Mammoth on an easy route, presumably broke a hold or something. By the end of his career, he was part of more than 800 search and rescue missions. Chuck Akamazo would go on to law school and ended up in Boulder, Colorado, where he still practices. Later on, he would co-found the Axis Fund, the organization that protects climbing in America.
