Is the WHO to Blame for the Lab Leak?
This is happening in a political context and the context is increasingly rocky relations between Washington and Beijing most recently over the other balloon story we've been doing this month. It's also the case, just flatly true, that China could have cooperated with the WHO and have not. But I think in some ways that suspicion about how the Chinese authorities are behaving has been conflated with an assumption that there's evidence that they're trying to cover up the points to the lab leak.
