Juliette pulliam is the director of sisima, a south african centre for epidemological modelling and analysis. She says re infections were much more common with th omicron variant than with the previous variance. People in her study had up to four ifections, so we can say that people were getting re infected at a much higher rate during our omicron wave in december than in the prior waves. The population level immunity in south africa is currently very high.
