The Wild Double Standard in the History of Marriage
This was a time when women were considered to be their husband's property. So yes, if you think of another person as essentially being your property, and it is her job to produce children for you, then the idea of abortion is immediately before we get into any other issues very threatening. Horatio Storr said after she's pregnant, a woman is just a nest. We only have to focus on the potential male. And he also talks about how, you know, women are prone to depression and hysteria, and they don't really know what they want.
