How Do You Test an Idea?
I've been doing a lot of research in recently for my own trading. And i just have a huge list of stuff that i could, you know, stop taking ideas and spend the next several years just whiddling down that list. But i'm always chasing the latest, greatest ideas too, right? So when you test an idea, you must have some top of expectation on it, it's going to work. There is no rhyme or reason why something workswir doesn't work. If somebody gives me a mean reversion strategy, and i can look at the rules, i can tell pretty quickly, you know how well it will work, ut won’t work.
