When two radio operators were parachuted into France in September 1941, they arranged to meet up with other SOE agents at a safe house. Hall was invited but there was some kind of sixth sense that told her not to go. Her instincts were sound. One SOE agent was captured with details of the safe house on him. The Vichy police staked out the location when each agent arrived at the supposedly safe house. They were caught and tortured and put into prison and awaiting execution, almost certain execution.
