Is There a Trade-Off in Architecture?

The most important part of a good api, in my opinion, is the inner face, not the implementation. In protecting that inner face and protecting the cleanliness of it, is how you get scale as an organization. It's where it enables you to build a new disual product quickly. Protecting that inner face over time requires quite a bit of programming overtime concerns. You have to be able to change rapidly in the face of new requirements.
