The Prosperity of Rome

In a speech praising Rome, another near contemporary of John describes Rome this way. Around lie the continents far and wide, pouring an endless flow of goods to Rome. And so the Romans like to think that a golden age of prosperity had been brought to the Mediterranean Sea in that world. Anyone who wants to behold all of these products must either journey through the whole world to see them or you can simply come to the city.
