The images that you've put online, I do urge people to go and find them. They are so grainy and they're basically black with little blobs of gray on them. You have an idea of where the object should be from previous observations. And then you also have the motion of the objects through time. So you can pick out what's the difference between noise and what's the object. The fact that you're saying that it's on a slightly smaller orbit after the collision might explain something that I think will puzzle a lot of people.
