There's a kind of critique of what Europe has been for the last decades which leans into some of the same themes. One of the ways in which we've outsourced the dirty work is around migration so you know we're perfectly humane and legalistic, treat asylum seekers with some account to our borders really very well in many respects but all of that system can be kept up in part because not very pleasant figures like Wallets and Libya are keeping migrants off European shores.
