Pythagorean Thoughts About Numbers
There is very little in the direct sources about his life that suggests that he had any such ideas, but that doesn't mean that they aren't there at all. We should be careful not to apply later ideas backward and indeed a lot of ideas that later thinkers identified as Pythagorean were actually Platonist or anachronistically projected back to him. But it is very possible that he did have ideas about the fundamental world of numbers in the cosmos. Indeed his movement did survive after he died after all.
