Cannabis can be addictive, but it also is a gateway off of addiction to harder drugs for many people. I've had so much success in my clinical practice, getting people off opiates for chronic pain onto cannabis or getting people off alcohol onto cannabis. And their quality of life improves and it's not life threatening. Do we look at addiction the wrong way in our society? Absolutely. Look what they did in Portugal. They legalized drugs and took all this billions of dollars that we're wasting on law enforcement to persecute people who are using drugs.
