The main ingredient in a spray tan is d h a, specifically dihydroxy acitone. This ingredient reacts with the proteins in the outer layer of your skin and that causes them to get darker. The only d h a that turns your skin that color is dihydro acitone. It's important to note thet dhydroocetic acid and dacosa hexanoic acid do not work as sunless tanners. They do not turn it brown.
