When scheduling your day, make sure you are giving yourself time to recover after emotionally draining activities. Check in with yourself throughout the day and ask, what am i doing and how is that making you feel? If you need a quick fix to calm yourself down, try taking deep belly breaths. Deep breathing creates a physiological response that encourages your body to relax. As your body relaxes, your mind will follow. Give yourself some time to let yourself think. When we let ourselves have the goal of just letting our minds wander, it can help us explore how we're feeling and recharge our emotional batteries.
