Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World

CHAPTER

The History of Thylacines

Thylacine pouches face backwards towards their tails so males have them too. They were exclusively carnivorous or obligate carnivores like cats and needed to hunt. Their coats which are made of soft short fur are generally described as being brown in color though it varies. The fur also apparently grew longer in the colder winter months, July through August. In addition to their overall coat of brown fur Thylacines also had 15 to 20 darker stripes on their hindquarters.
