The Uranium Club
Werner Heisenberg was a member of the Uranium Club in Nazi Germany. The club's first task was to enrich uranium, which is needed for nuclear reactors. In order to build an atomic bomb, one needs enriched Uranium and they were able to do this by separating it from fissionable U238. This helped them get closer to making an atomic bomb than any other German group had ever done before.
