The Rise of the Inquisition
Since the second vatican council in 19 65, the catholic church has been officially against coercion and open to diversity in religious belief. To a thirteenth century inquisitor, the very freedom to choose in matters of religion that democracies cherish would mean the freedom to perish. And he would refuse to believe that.
