Sam Blithe's Relationship With Boris Johnson
Sam Blithe and Boris Johnson's younger brother, Joe, are also connected by more than family. Until recently, they both sat on the board of a Canadian student recruitment company. But when Sam Blithe wanted to reach out to Boris Johnson, he did not do so via Stanley or Joe, but via Richard Sharp. At the time, Richard Sharp was working for the then-chartsler of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak - one ex-Goldman-Sachs banker working for another. Simon Case had previously worked as Permanent Secretary in No. 10 during the first few months of the pandemic. Sources say Dominic Cummings chose him explicitly because he was pliable.
