The Importance of Enlightenment Liberalism
David Frum: I want to talk a little bit about enlightenment liberalism. In your book, you talk about it kind of in two places. You talk about it obviously in the context of the enlightenment but also as beginning in the 1960s. So I'm wondering if you can kind of unpack that for me. Sure. When I refer to enlightenment liberalism, what I'm describing is if you take the political framework that's developed by enlightenment rationalists.
