Carrie and John had great plans for a settled year in 2022. But soon into the year their emergency fund got a workout. Their daughter had a sudden and frightening medical event that resulted in surgery at a private hospital just three short weeks after finding out about it. Carrie, who had literally just started her new role, then had to take two weeks off to care for her daughter.
