How to Write a Good Word
How much are you thinking about the very next word that you're writing? Does it have to almost earn its place? Is there a purpose for it there? Or is it just, let's get it out and then we'll try and fix things later? I don't strain like that. That sounds like a straining business, making words struggle out. I quite enjoy writing. And I don't find it painful for life. A struggle is not really to get the word out. The struggle for me is to shape and to hear and keep listening until the balance is right. It takes a long time to write. You know, it's a pleasure to knock it into shape as well
