The Origins of Glass

A lot of people think that it may have just naturally occurred from this. Egyptians also had lots of ceramic and pottery processes before they had true glass. So you see what happens when there's a volcanic eruption, lightning strikes can make sand or can make glass. The process of drying actually pools a lot of that sodium out to the surface.
