The Future of Universities
Western Sydney University is leasing out some of its high rise buildings as a way to sort of perpetuate futures of whiteness. Part of it is about what we're trying to do is problematise some taken for granted assumptions around public institutions like universities. They are a part of the claiming of land that takes no account of indigenous sovereignty. And in the contemporary space, not only is that completely disregarding sovereignty, when universities turn into corporations there's a re-embedding and this is where the futurity comes into it.
