The New York Times puts out its top ten books of the year. The list is arranged by their editors, who read a ton of books and argue with each other. A lot of this process is very internal, because it really is just what i've read and liked and what has stayed with me.
Parul Sehgal, a former a book critic for The New York Times, is now a staff writer at The New Yorker.
