Is There Any Argument to Give in Preference to Divine Discourse?
When I began writing my theology of the manifest, that book is basically my dissertation plus some other research that I had done in the meantime. My approach to the question of what does it mean to read the Bible of scripture was influenced by my readings and phenomenological philosophy. The Nicene tradition assumes that the divine discourse is appropriate to Jesus by default, because by default he's God. And the creaturely discourse is appropriate for him only in so far as he is assumed to human nature.
