The Rich Man Departed From Christ

Many Jim Jones followers didn't do anything more than go to church on Sundays, maybe drop something in a collection plate. But if you want to give your life to the mission to change the world instead of just benefiting from that change, it was going to mean total self-renouncing commitment. And so the rich man departed from Christ, just as most declined to make the sacrifices asked by Jim Jones over the years.
