Value Is in Our Minds

Think of all the things in your life you would not be willing to sell because they have sentimental val. Value is subjective, dependent upon preferences of the individual and the social context at play. In real estate, you see this when people insist on over pricing their homes far above what they appraise at or they're worth. The owner of those items would tell a very different story. Sometimes you can get them to with stories, which i'll get to later in the episode. But getting people to be realistic about the worth, price and value is very important When trying to convince them to sell an item, especially one as sentimental as a home.
