Do You Need Support?

People will naturally move towards things they are more comfortable in doing. If you can't change the environment, then you need to do something a different way. Some people can't become autonomous learners because of their disability. But I think a lot of people can. A personal example from my university experience is someone with dyslexia who started two weeks later than everyone else and got an extension for all his essays. He didn't need it - he was an autonomous learner being given a handicap that he didn't need. So how does that help him? It doesn't because he was an Autonomous Learner or anything like that.
