Mastodon - The Business Model

Carol Costello: I feel like we should talk about the business model. The thing I love about Mastodon, the business model is just so open. You can't use the thing for free and expect it to be paid for because there are no ads or anything. And I feel like Elon has set us the price, right? The price is $8 a month. That's what he wants us to pay on Twitter. Right. If everyone who's using Mastodon and can afford to do so, but $8 a week towards their local server they're running on, it's going to work. It's just going to happen.
