The Larka Sending by Vaughan Williams

Vaughan Williams' Larka Sending is a 15-minute piece of music written in 1920. It's the most requested song on desert island discs and it's like people sort of play it a few notes, etc. Vaughan Williams was an interesting guy because he was one of these big collectors of folk music. And so it is interesting to think about how much of that is like a corporeal sort of physical thing about wanting to get out into the sunshine.
