The Importance of Recognizing and Treating ADHD
One of the highest genetic linkages, and I just heard this at the most recent app-sar meeting, is actually elevated BMI. So adults with ADHD are heavier, more obesity, and along with that comes more diabetes and more cardiovascular disease. And it could be again, dysregulation of the motivation reward system leads to overeating and things like that binge eating as we talked about.
