Charles Townes was the inventor of the laser and won a Nobel Prize for his work. The idea came to him while sitting on a park bench, he told John von Neumann. He also spoke about being religious but kept that secret most of his life because it would have been belittled by scientific community. "I personally think it begins at home," says author who has never gotten in a Twitter fight.
