Is There a Time When the Housing Crisis Really Worked?

In 1979, 29% of properties in England were rented council housing. Latest figures show that number is now just 6%. Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's policies effectively slowed down council house building and introduced the right to buy. Dr Potts also believes the housing crisis has been driven by low pay. If you're in the labour market, the price of your labour is determined by market conditions. And basically there are millions of jobs in this country which simply do not yield sufficient income for those on decent legal housing.
