The Importance of Rigid Heads in General Motors
Dick: General motors decided to not reinforce the head. So when you got an engine, you made it more rigid. They put four torqued to yield ones on every head, which was not anywhere near enough. And so they would either stretch out, which caused the head gasket to fail and then coolant and oil mixes inside everywhere. It's not supposed to be a destroyer engine or they would just snap. The car is dead.
