Is There Any Limit to Police Power?

There is a long but forgotten tradition of skepticism and hostilities about the exercise of police power in Britain. Police are on the political agenda more than ever out of the miserable racist violence of America's police. And yet it's sometimes difficult to get a grip on what police power is and what it's for. You might well look around and ask is there any limit to police power? We're going to answer some of those questions today before we do something else that fits.
