The royal family tried to break out of their defacto jail cell in the tuilerie palace, but were busted along the road and dragged ignobly back to parist. The fate of the monarchy was suddenly on the tip of every one's tongue. Would it be saved? Do we even want it to be saved? We're going to talk about what the men in that latter camp did to protect themselves from the unwashed masses who threatened the new regime. And how they now identified their primary political enemies as the royal family or aristocratic emigres.
