Arraney Sunderland's View on Interest Rates
Andrew Wishart is senior economist, specialising in housing at Capital Economics. He says the economy has proven far more resilient than anyone expected to higher interest rates. The strength of the economy means that although the initial high energy prices are no longer pushing up inflation, instead what we're getting now is high wage increases. And as well as the Bank of England raising interest rates, it means that investors now expect interest rates to stay higher for longer.
