The Role of Data in DOJ Oversight
The two most common data sets that I see used by the media and activist groups in DOJ are stops and uses of force. So it's an easy and the typical headline is that black drivers are five times more likely than white drivers to be stopped in the city of whatever. And so you're having not only a public discussion and a lot of media attention, but you have state and local legislation that is based on the data from these advocacy groups.
