Is Prometheus a Martyr for Humanity?

i think one of the things that struck me immediately about the play is that the first two characters that that speak are a power, and he's accompanied by his body violent. And so i kind of read prometheus as being a martyr for humanity, in that man, being mortal, needs some sort of reason, some sort of forethought to improve his circumstances. Well, yes, i dont relize that the circumstance needs to be, needs to be,. that's right?
