The National Anthem - A Memoir of a Time of Silence and Grief

Moffin struck before our ams by the lack of delivery of what our national anthem represents. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobiists and the gun industries are more important than children's freedom to go to school without needing bullet proof back packs or active shooter drills. Every time i place my hand over my heart, i'm participating in a self congratulatory glorification of the only country where these mass shootings take place. I wish i hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. The home of the brave should encourage and that's it.
