The Importance of Genetics in Sports

In his new book, "Buckes ye," David Perry explains the relative importance of genetics across different sports. Track and field seems to be incredibly genetic with 30 something identical twins in track and field. In basketball it's 75 % or a little bit higher, maybe even 90%. Of basket ball talent would have to be genetic. And if you look at the numbers through the standard errors, it's very clear that genetics has been lower in these sports than other ones.
