How to Keep People's Attention in a Crowded Email Box?

i've learned so much about writing from having to keep people's attention in a crowded email box. If you're going to stand out in a subject line or hook your reader in the first couple of sentences, that sort of skill transfers really well to writing books. I was a street musician for a long time, and i hitch iked across north america playin an acoustic guitar. So it's real easy for me to show up and share my message and get attention in a place where the audience was open to it. There's an architect i know who does no marketing because he doesn't need to.
