The Role of Vector and Energy in the Treatment of Pulsus VT

There's never been a randomized controlled trial in the past to actually look at this question. So we basically took patients who presented in VF for Pulsus VT and they would receive standard ALS therapy if available, and they had a minimum of three successive shocks given. After the third shock, the patients were randomized through a cluster randomization process to one of three strategies. The second was to switch the pads from AL to AP, otherwise known as vector change to fibrillation. And the third strategy was to move to the double sequential external defibrillation strategy by adding a second defibrillator with pads in the AP position.
