Knowing yourself as an athlete isn't something that just happens. Like you don't just wake up one morning and know calculus. You have to learn. And so, like Jonathan said, you may not know that you're making a plan that isn't going to work for you or that's maybe a little bit too aspirational for where you are right now. That's okay. You try it and you've learned something from it. And then you can apply that the next time that you put together a race plan.
