The Importance of Teaching Ethics in the Real World

There's no systematic attempt by my society to give me these tools. The tool is the methods of thinking about these issues and bringing them in line with our values. As long as we're really just teaching those thinking tools and not trying to indoctrinate them then we are going to end up with people with different views on a range of issues that's understandable but they will be thinking better. You know you can tell people who are actually thinking well even though they disagree with you. That's part of every philosophy professor or ethics professor who grades papers. It's it's the quality and level of the argument that merits the grade not the view that the student ends up with.
